The 12951/12952 Mumbai Rajdhani Express is the fastest train on the Mumbai - Delhi sector and the fastest Rajdhani train. It is a daily service. It operates as train number 12951 from Mumbai Central to New Delhi Railway Station and as train number 12952 in the reverse direction. There is a loco change over at Vadodara. A WCAM-2P of the Valsad Shed hauls the train between Mumbai Central and Vadodara where it switches over to a WAP7 engine from the Ghaziabad shed.
Recently, Western Railway has begun converting the Mumbai region's 1500v DC traction to 25000v AC traction. This will result in the elimination of the need to change engine's at Vadodara & WAP engines will start entering the Mumbai region.
